3.1 Molding cores for casting metal and/or non ferrous
Application:
Removing sand, binder and carbon build-up from core boxes and core machines.
Current method:
Items are taken off-line and grit blasted or cleaned with chemical solvents.
Dissatisfactions:
Production downtime ; mold wear from grit blasting ; labor intensive ; slow ; cost and liability of chemicals and contaminated waste disposal.
Benefits of CRYONOMIC® cleaning:
An excellent application for CO2 cleaning. Molds can be "cleaned in place" to increase profits by reducing cleaning time. The cleaning labor for scrubbing and scouring is eliminated. The cost and liability of chemical and contaminated waste are virtually eliminated. Also the mold wear problem associated with grit blasting is eliminated. Cleaning vent screens may be a small problem area.
