4.1 Cleaning Aluminium
Application:
Removing carbon, oxidation, paint, scale and oil from aluminium.
Current method:
Media blasting, hand scrubbing, and chemical solvents.
Dissatisfactions:
Cost and liability of chemical and contaminated wastes, blast media contamination, labor intensive and slow.
Benefits of CRYONOMIC® cleaning:
A good application for CO2 cleaning. Cost savings are generated by virtually eliminating the cost and liabilities of chemicals and contaminated waste disposal and eliminating the contamination from blasting media. CO2 cleaning is non-abrasive, so will not remove "stains" in the substrate. Tempering over scale is difficult to remove.
