5.1 Rebuilding Engine Blocks and Cylinder Heads
Application:
Removing carbon deposits for inspection and processing.
Current method:
Items are baked and than blasted with steel shot or dipped/sprayed in a caustic bath/hot tank.
Dissatisfactions:
Disposal cost and liability of chemical and contaminated wastes ; ineffective ; slow.
Benefits of CRYONOMIC® cleaning:
A very good application for CO2 cleaning. Aluminium heads generally clean faster than steel. Some carbon on combustion chambers may be difficult to remove. No metal is removed and no surface texture is changed.
