6.1 Circuit Board Manufacturing
Application:
Removing solder flux and coatings from circuit boards.
Current method:
Boards are cleaned with chemical strippers or in a water/wash chamber.
Dissatisfactions:
Cost and liability of chemical and contaminated waste disposal ; water can cause problems with circuit boards.
Benefits of CRYONOMIC® cleaning:
A good application for CO2 cleaning. Savings are produced by reducing the cost and liability of chemical and contaminated waste disposal. CO2 cleaning is a dry process that cleans the solder side of circuit boards well. Component sides may be damaged by CO2 cleaning.
